Wills and James Road Trip
Day Twenty-seven 10.4.05
We had packed up the awning last night in anticipation of rain overnight. Of course it didn't rain at all but and as we had slept in we didn't even get off to an early start. It was really cold last night and was the first that we had to put on the heater.
We had decided to head for Pontevedra as there was loads of campsites there. We drove on to Vigo and then to Panxon. We are camping at Playa De Las Americas. Its very pleasant and within walking distance of the beach.
We went for a leisurely stroll along the bay and found very busy restaurants full of wealthy Spaniards, you could tell they were wealthy because the jacketed men were wearing pink shirts tucked into jeans with tan shoes and the women were tailor suited and booted in many colours, some fashionable some not. There was also a surprising number of Mercedes, Audis, Porsches and BMWs parked haphazardly around. We watched a woman let her poodle do a poo on the beach and then walked back.
The weather is much nicer here, although still windy, we are in shorts and t-shirts. The Spaniards are in fur and woolly hats! There are just a couple of people actually sunbathing. If this was the England the beach would be packed with windbreaks up and the newspapers would be recording record temperatures.
