Wills and James Road Trip
Day Forty-nine 2.5.05
William awoke early and it was raining! Not a lot, but it made a difference when trying to pack up quickly, the canvass awning takes a while to dry out. William was busy getting everything ready to go i.e. sorting out the clothes etc (James was happy to let nature take its course and allow the tent to dry itself) and low and behold the sun poked its nose out. The awning was dry in no time and we were ready to leave this very noisy and goldfish bowl like pitch. We left 60 euros lighter (one of the more expensive sites) and set off for Ronda. Conil de la Frontera campsite was fine but it was just taken over by a lot of Spanish teenagers and very loud Spanish families. We sorted out a route to follow the N340(E05) via Algeciras and Gibraltar. Just after Estepona we took a right onto the A376 towards Ronda.
The road was a very high and narrow with amazing views over "Serrania de Ronda" Valley. The drive took about 3 hours and we arrived about 2 ish at El Sur campsite. It was just right, grassy pitch, very clean facilities and we found a nice spot. We decided to have lunch at the on site restaurant. James, still very into his fish, had dorada and funnily enough William had a nice piece of steak .
We both felt a little drained from the journey so we stayed at the campsite watching the site steadily fill up with fellow travellers, most of which where Dutch. We both find it funny when certain campers seam to take ages just to find a pitch for their motoring monsters and then leave early the next day.
