So they say the South Island has amazing scenery and we just wanted to get out there and see it!! We left christchurch and drove through a tunnell and literally on the other side was amazing scenery...gorgous green hills, with gorgous blue lakes the camera came out immediately and we were wowing!!! we took a scenic route to Akaroa which is just out on a peninsula to the side of christchurch, we drove through really winding roads with loads of sheep on the hills. ...

So after a ferry, train and plane ride we arrived in christchurch slightly disorientated from getting up so early and also because everything looked quite english!! the weather was grey and chilly too. We arrived a t a nice hostel called the old country house and felt a little bit sad thinking about Australia!!! We took quite a bit of a detour to get down to Manly, we thought we'd take the scenic route via Lake Macquarie and Newcastle. It was a lovely drive but took us about 8 hours to get there!!! We had quite a long drive down from Noosa to our next stop Brunswick heads, it took nearly all day and it rained really hard, the drive was all along motorway so was pretty uneventful. Brunswick heads is just north of Byron Bay, we couldnt get a caravan park at Byron so decided on Brunswick heads instead.
