No blog yesterday as didn't take any photos as we drove from Albany to perth. Went through a small town called Boddington but rod wouldn't stop as we had managed to overtake 4 road trains and didn't want to get behind them again. Stopped at another small town called konjolup for lunch where we looked at a rose maze, which told the story of 3 women who moved there in 1900 - one English, one italian and an aboriginal. A good day with nice temperature of 25 deg. Went to the ANZAC memorial for the 1st world war. Then went to two amazing beaches with a picnic. We did a trail of the town which was interesting and then to the beaches where there used to be a whaling station. A bit gruesome but quite picturesque today. Along drive to Albany through many trees! Did a tree top walk in Nornalup through eucalyptus trees. I stood in a tree and our accommodation is in the trees! Our room is called tree tops. The owners (2 ladies) have a pet kangaroo which they adopted after its mother was shot by a farmer. Name sammy joe. May try and hold her tomorrow, she is carried around in a sling to mimic her mothers pouch. She looks huge to still be in the pouch but they stay there until...

Up bright and early to get to Busselton to take train along jetty to deep sea observatory. Excellent apart from crying babies ! Who takes tiny kids in arms to look at fish through a window and hear someone talking about fish! Drove to Dunsborough - lovely beach - peaceful - shallow warm water. Then to Yallingup beach - so different - not flat but rocks and surfing. Wonderful day with temps of 31 deg. Chill by pool afterwards - ie fell asleep!

Travelled today from Perth to Yallingup which took us along the Indian Ocean. We stopped at Binningup (lots of places in this region have towns ending in "up"). It is the height of summer and children are off school and this beautiful beach was deserted. But there again there are lots of beaches around here. On Saturday beaches were deserted as it was too hot and people went to the shopping malls where there is air conditioning. We are going back to Busselt...
