Moved from barossa valley to Robe on the coast yesterday. Nice small town. Today moved to Port Fairy and we are now in the state of Victoria - which also means we moved the time on another half hour. This is also a very nice small coastal town. It is still cooler - they say this is a bad summer - but the worse thing is the wind. It's so strong. Apparently it is always windy on this south coast with usually the winds coming from the Antarctic.

Out of communication yesterday as no internet connection. Had a great 2 days on kangaroo island. Managed to see good wildlife. Stayed in an old homestead built at beginning of 20th century. Toured the island yesterday (Sunday) - and today. Arrived back in Adelaide and drove to barossa valley to our hotel - Jacob creek retreat - took 2 hours instead of the 1 in the instructions - it was now 9.30 pm - only to find we couldn't get in, it was pitch dark. Yesterday went to the nearest beach on a tram - Glenelg (palindrome) lovely. Today went to botanic gardens then a migration museum - very interesting. 1.5 million Brits came to South Australia in the 1950. Interesting breakdown of other nationalities who have come. Like Adelaide but like other cities they have down and outs.

Left Alice Springs on The Ghan and had lovely meals on the train. Outback scenery unchanging for mile after mile - great excitement when you saw anything! A bit of a sleepless night with the noise of the track and the swaying of the train. In Adelaide now and planning to take the tram to the beach. On line only briefly until tomorrow so will put pictures out then as have to come to lobby to go on Internet.
