Travelled today from Perth to Yallingup which took us along the Indian Ocean. We stopped at Binningup (lots of places in this region have towns ending in "up"). It is the height of summer and children are off school and this beautiful beach was deserted. But there again there are lots of beaches around here. On Saturday beaches were deserted as it was too hot and people went to the shopping malls where there is air conditioning. We are going back to Busselton tomorrow morning to go to the underwater observatory - it was either that or go snorkelling (Jones kids will know that is not me!)
So tonight we are in Yallingup at Cape Lodge - a lovely hotel in a vineyard. It has 20 rooms scattered about the estate. We had some of their white Sauvignon blanc which was very nice.

John Hi Both ... Looks fantastic but how come it took you so long to get there ... the map shows Binningup is only a few miles up the road from Banbury ... Oh, hang on a sec, that's Bunbury. How can you possibly manage to put up with all those crowded beaches? ... I'm only jealous ... it all sounds great. Bright but cold up here in Claydon ... -2C this morning.
