Out of communication yesterday as no internet connection. Had a great 2 days on kangaroo island. Managed to see good wildlife. Stayed in an old homestead built at beginning of 20th century. Toured the island yesterday (Sunday) - and today. Arrived back in Adelaide and drove to barossa valley to our hotel - Jacob creek retreat - took 2 hours instead of the 1 in the instructions - it was now 9.30 pm - only to find we couldn't get in, it was pitch dark. Made a call and no record of our booking. There never was dinner and although the owner had a room - he lived 1 and half hours away! We had noticed a Novotel in a place called Rowland Flat so drove back there and have just got a room and ordered room service. So bed for night, but now in touch with agent in Australia and agent in Leamington spa. Concerned that all hotels booked going to Melbourne
Not booked - although car hire was ok.

Weather has been cooler but forecast is good. It was quite windy on the island. Saw there had been quite a few bush fires on news in Western Australia - particularly mentioningBoddington!
