A 13 hour bus trip took us from Edinburgh to London via Glasgow. A company called Megabus runs double decker buses on an Internet booking only no frills service for only 10 pounds each!
We arrived back in London later than scheduled due to really bad traffic jams as we entered the centre of London. Then while walking to the tube station we saw a man get arrested and we puzzled over the fact that there were a lot of people milling around bus stops and walking at 9.00pm. It turned out the day that we returned was the day of the 4 new bombs that didn't detonate and many tube sections were closed. Luckily our tube wasn't closed and we found our way back to Rachel and Graham's flat.
Friday 21st July we had a day at the cricket! Well not actually at Lords but second best to that. In London's Regent Park, not far from Lords, a big screen telecasts the cricket and many people bring picnic hampers and set up on the lawns for the day. We did just that ourselves, with Graham, who had the day off work, and cheered Australia on (well we did) in beautiful sunny weather.
The following night we had a meal and a drink or two with Daniel and caught up on each others stories and photos and then packed up ready to leave early the next day, for the European leg of our adventure.
