After a 35 minute flight from Cusco to Juliaca, we hopped straight on a bus to Puno on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca. We were travelling from Cusco to La Paz with an Australian friend Hayley who we had met in Huachachina and met up with again in Cusco. She had to be in La Paz for 26th June to start a tour, which matched perfectly with our plans so decided to travel there together.
Puno was just a brief stop on our way to Copacabana. We found a nice hostel although it was freezing!! The lounge and kitchen were pretty decent though so we decided (for the first time since we´ve been away) to cook in the hostel and cosy up and watch a film in the hope of warming up a bit!
We went out to the market and managed to buy tonnes of pasta, tomato sauce, peppers, tomatoes, green beans, onions and tuna, and a choccie bar for dessert and cooked up an absolute feast! It was yummy and only cost about a fiver for the 3 of us! We then watched The Wrestler and The Sweetest Thing before heading off to bed.
The next morning (Monday 22nd) we caught the 7.30am bus to Copacabana, which included our first border crossing - a pretty painless procedure thankfully!
