Arrived in Lima on the 31st May after what seemed like a really long flight (despite it only being half the journey to Australia!) and got a taxi to our hostel in a district of Lima called Miraflores.
Spent our first day in Central Lima, which was very run down and quite gloomy!! Walked around the streets near the Plaza de Armas (didn´t want to stray too far as it was quite a scary place to start on our first day!!). Visited the San Francisco convent to get our history lesson for the day, then made a very steep climb in a rickety bus up to the top of St Cristobel hill overlooking Lima (Lee looked as white as a ghost on the way up...it did look like the bus could fall down the steep drop at the side of the road at any minute!).
Spent our second day in Miraflores near our hostel, walked around the town, which was a lot nicer than central Lima....even had a starbucks which admitedly we did sneak into for a quick cuppa as the weather was pretty dismal and cold!
Decided to stop one more night in Miraflores and get the bus down to Pisco early the next day! We had good intentions but didn´t end up getting our bus until about midday!! .......
