On leaving Paraty we took a local bus to Sao Sebastiao where we arrived at around 11pm and headed to our hostel. Our bus arrived in Paraty at 1am - not ideal! But we had booked a hostel when we were in Rio which was only 5 minutes from the bus station, so we walked there to check-in. From Buzios we had to get a bus back to Rio (long!) and then another bus out of Rio to Petropolis, a mountain town about an hour away.
