After spending two nights in Ljubljana already we still hadn´t gone into the town itself. Headed in by bus and went to the markets where I purchased a pair of mens long johns to beat the freezing weeather we were experiencing. Of course we needed a burek to heat us up and give us some energy for climbing the hill up to the castle. It was well worth the effort and the views of the town were great, this is one place that looks awesome no matter which angle you see it from. The town has a very studenty vibe and despite being a week-day there were plenty of people out in the street cafés. We sat by the river in the sunshine watching the boat cruises go past and writing birthday cards to our relatives who all seem to have been born around the same time. It was here that I made the much-needed purchase of my lovely new long coat, okay it makes me look like a puffa fish but it does the necessary insulating. We headed to Lake Bled in the afternoon and climbed up to another castle. The views from this one really are unbeatable. We found our campsite on the outskirts and holed in for the night.
