Left Valencia and headed to Rio del Elba, a national park which has, apparently, some birds of the winged variety. At first we couldn't find any but some saw flamingoes after a long search. Pretty much could have been anything for all i knew, we could only get within about 500 metres of the things!

On the way to Valencia we hit a horrendous thunderstorm and couldn't even see the road anymore. Decided to take shelter in a nearby campsite and wait til the storm passed.

Just been up to the Alhambra and as we were waiting, maybe about tenth in line, the loudspeaker came on that the tickets for the morning slot were sold out. So we now have tickets for the afteroon which starts at 2pm but because you´re allocated entry times in half hour slots we can´t get in until 5pm. Looks like we´re staying an extra night here then. Up early and headed to the islands of Islas Cies part of the National Park of Atlantic Islands of Galicia. It wasn´t great weather so we spent the day walking from one point of the island to the other, all in all we probably covered about 10km, most of it uphill. The views were well worth the climb and the photos are pretty speccy (being quite unprepared for mist and fog, I wore flip flops planning on a beach day so I´m amazed I made it up there at all), so w...

Last night in Spain, stayed at a lovely beach near Cangas in a tiny hamlet called Aldán. Dinner and wine on the beach watching the sunset. Does life get any better than this?
