What did our last blog say about being happy campers? This morning Nad refused to start again, we tried to bump start him but we just didn´t have enough of a hill. We were given a charger by the campsite which took about an hour and then we headed off to what we thought was a garage to get Nad a battery transplant. Anxious parents we were....
The garage turned out to be a Halfords equivalent which sold batteries but didn´t install them so we headed over to their sister shop which had a workshop. No bets...too busy. So we found OAMTC the Austrian equivalent of the AA and a really lovely guy looked at our battery and said it was fine we didn´t need a new one. So we had to take the 150 euro battery back to the other place, only they didn´t give refunds just credit notes, not much use when you are leaving the country that day. Have you seen that really awful tv programme that makes the contestants run around and pick up all sorts of rubbish in a given time (I think it´s called Supermarket Sweep).....well, picture that but with me and Dan as the contestants. 153 euros worth of stuff we didn´t really need from a Halfords store. Man, I could have bought sooooo much somewhere else.....Zara, Mango...the options are endless.
We did use our heads and get jump leads, a battery charger, new stereo speakers and a new Maglite cos we left the other one in Albania, then again, we also bought a really unnecessary back of the car seat tidier, another torch and a sort of net to tie things down in the boot, which we don´t have.
You live/travel and learn I guess.
We had to stay in Vienna for another night, heading to Slovakia tomorrow.
