Another trek and this time to Lake Wabby. We spotted at a lookout first where it is the only place in the world where you can see the sea, a lake, forest and sand dunes altogether. It was really cool, but very very hot! We had to walk over the sand dunes after our time at the lake to the beach for lunch. by the time we got there we were knackered out! Went to the Maheno shipwreck first then onto Indian Head where we spotted sharks and turtles from the cliff. Paddled in Eli creek which was freshwater but so so cold. Really enjoyed today.

We were up very early for the ferry crossing to Fraser Island and were met by our guide the other side. We started the day by trekking through the rainforest to Basin Lake and there we met the native b****** flies....they were huge and liked biting us for our blood....they soon died, we must have killed loads through-out the few days! went swimming in a fresh water lake where there were turtles but we didn't see any.
