On the drive down we saw far too many kangaroo carcuses, several roads trains and not so many cars! Part way down in the distance we saw red clouds of what we thought was smoke swirling upwards. Shortly afterwards we realised these were outback tornados that appear randomly in the dessert, Guess what happened next??????????????............................

Thats right within seconds we realised that 20 feet infront was one coming straight for us and the only way was forward, so through the tornado we went, and back out the other side a bit whiter than we were a few seconds ago, and this is true as strange as it sounds!

Arriving at Yulara resort we checked in and went to see the sunset ar Uluru which was beautiful. Next day we did the base walk of Uluru which is a 9.4km trek in 41C heat (and thats in the shade!). After nearly dying we went to a dodgy outback lodge bar which isnt to be done again. Next day we went back for sunset in a lightning storm follwed by a cloudy sunrise the day after that.
