Travel with Elaine and Buzz
Friday, 31 May: The plane rides were on time and smooth. I took advantage of the perks one gets when wearing an airboot on one's foot and got a ride from the gate to passport control and baggage claim in Tel Aviv. I got a wonderful welcome at the airport inTel Aviv from Sapir and Ofer. Once at home in Jerusalem, I unpacked, to the delight of the children, and we had a relaxing Shabbat dinner and evening.
Saturday, 1 June: We drove to Ashkelon this morning to spend a leisurely Shabbat with Ofer's parents and grandmother. As it turns out, a bit of jet lag, 90 degree heat, and three glasses of red wine from the monks at Letrun were not a good combination. I had to leave the lunch table to have a nap! we came back to Jerusalem in the early evening...just enough time for Kate and I to have a game of Scrabble before she collapsed! I was asleep soon after...getting a bit old for this jetting around.
