Trailor on Tour
The 6 of us decided to go back to the Australian Open to support Tim Henman in his match against Nikolay Davydenko and I really wish I hadn't bothered. We were up early to get to the arena, as we had to queue to buy tickets, which we did with ease and we even managed to get almost the same seats as last time. Before leaving the hostel I had to pack and store my backpack ready to fly later in the day.
The lads from my dorm, as well as some others from the hostel, had dressed as female tennis players and were wearing skirts, tops with their names on and headbands, all in a ploy to get onto the TV.
Play started at 1100 and I have never seen such a boring game of tennis - Henman looked like he was so uninterested, maybe he had something on his mind. Davydenko played some fantastic shots and deserved to win by 3 straight sets, but I wish Tim had at least given the appearnce of being slightly interested. I think I could have lost as convincingly, but at least I may have shown a spark of actually wanting to be on the court and play. One of the girls I was with made a slip and called Tim Henman, Tinman, which was probably more accurate a description of how he played. Am I being harsh? Did any of you see the match?
Next game up was Lindsay Davenport against Nicole Vaidesova, but I only got to see the first few games as I had to head back to get to the airport. When I got outside I went to the ticket booth and managed to sell my ground pass to someone for $10, which helped to pay for my taxi to the airport as by the time I had got the tram back to St Kilda I was a bit tight on time.
I'll write soon from the Whitsunday coast, Shes xx
