Trailor on Tour
Hello from the monsoon season - it has barely stopped raining since we arrived, hence the goggles!
We were picked up from our hotel at 0830 in a minibus, which then collected 4 other people. Alan was sat at the back with a girl called Angela from Australia and I was sat just in front of them, making it very difficult not to eavesdrop! Her opening line was that she had come to Thailand for cosmetic surgery and had been in hospital for the past week - a strange thing to say to a complete stranger, but still it piqued my interest and I spent the remainder of the 5 hours bus journey willing Alan to ask what she had had done.
When we disembarked to get on the ferry, both Maria and I were taking bets as to what she had in fact had changed - I guessed boobs and face/eyes and was spot on. She sat with us on the 1 and a half hour ferry ride and spoke quite freely of the surgery and even showed us the scars - she was obviously proud of them! It turns out that she is only 35 and has had a face lift - I'm obviously looking older than I had imagined.
When the ferry docked, we got a taxi to Chaweng Beach, which is where Alan's mates own a bar and after checking into a hotel we decided to head on down there for a few beverages, which culminated in a 3am swim in the ocean - beautiful......
Unfortunately the monsoon has well and trully struck and there hasn't been much in the way of UV rays, but as luck would have it there is a Starbucks!!
Yesterday we decided to tour the island and hired mopeds for the afternoon. What fantastic fun....I have never been on one before, but loved it and we drove round the whole island - getting soaked in the process. Yes mum I did wear a crash helmet!!
Tomorrow we are probably going to be moving on, but not too sure where to yet, so will let you know when I do.
Love Sherry xx
