Trailor on Tour
Well I am now back in sunny Bangkok. I decided against travelling south on my own as the Foreign Office does not recommend travel to Southern Thailand and parts of Malaysia and Indonesia at present. Instead, I'm travelling with Maria and Alan to Cambodia and Vietnam, before flying solo back to Singapore for a few days and then on to Perth at the beginning of November.
After a ferry trip and two bus rides, we took the overnight train from Surat Thani to Bangkok and it was actually ok, depite lots of people snoring and breaking wind! We arrived at 1100 yesterday and in total the journey took just under 24 hours - far less stressful with company I can tell you!
When we got here I checked my visa and realised that it runs out today (7th), so yesterday had to make a trip to the Thai Embassy to get a 10 day extension, then today we all went to the Vietnamese Embassy to arrange visas for there.
I'm fully expecting the travelling in Cambodia and Vietnam to be pretty basic, but from the beginning of November when I arrive in Singapore, it should be far more civilised. At least there will be 2 other people to laugh (or cry) with, depending on the circumstances.
We will probably be heading out either Saturday or Sunday morning and will try and write before then as I'm not sure that there will be many internet cafes in that part of the world. Hopefully it will be Sunday so that I can watch the footie Saturday evening - at least I can't lose whoever wins!!
Lots of love Sherry xx
