Trailor on Tour
Two days ago we all moved en masse from Nai Yang beach to a little headland which splits kata and Karon Beaches. Maria, Alan and I managed to find a very swanky hotel as pictured on the postcard. We have a room with a bouble and single bed, air conditioning, TV, mini bar, tea and coffee facilities, a hair dryer, balcony overlooking the pool, spa and breakfast is included. Oh, I forgot, we also get 8 nights for the price of 5 and all for the bargain price of 500 Baht each per night (75 Baht to 1 Pound). The lap of luxury for us travellers.
We have managed to find a very nice driver called Vilas who drove us the 40 minutes form Nai Yang Beach. The only problem being that with 5 people and all our luggage, one of us ended up in the back of the pick up truck with all the bags. Not too uncomfortable as I was leaning against my backpack with my feet up on Maria's. Sadly I had no sunblock on and as we were moving there was quite a nice breeze so I did not realise how strong the sun was - until that evening when nice red stripes appeared down the front of both shins - very attractive.
So yesterday I went for an aftersun massage and treatment at our spa - it was absolute bliss and I got 40% off price, so for an hour it cost about a fiver - cheaper than Molton Brown I think you'll agree.
Last night we were awoken at about 0300 by the loudest, brightest, most spectacular storm I have ever witnessed. Alan and I spent an hour out on the balcony watching a spectacular show from nature - I swear the toilet shook with one roll of thunder, as I was sat on it - No funny comments about my bottom please!
Lounging here for the next few days.....
