We packed and drove out to Raglan for New Years. Then we saw Jackie's new house and went for a blowy walk on the beach. Then for supper, roast pork. I made it til midnight. 

We got on a plane, landed in Wellington, then took a very bumpy ride back to Hamilton. Then we went to the movies to watch Chicken Run. 

This morning was bright and beautiful. We decided to go to Akaroa. So we drove out and got onto a cruise ship and a few minutes later we saw lots of Hector dolphins. Then we saw a mom and a baby! We kept going and saw baby shags. Then we sailed into a great big cave with lots of different coloured layers. Then we went a little further and saw salmon farms and paua pearl farm. We drove to a very high muddy creek which was overflowing. When we got to Christchurch we took the trolly around and looked at the gardens. Then we went to a Korean buffet which there was a burner in the table and you grilled anything you wanted. 

It was cloudy today so we didn't see Mt. Cook. We drove to the Good Shepherd Chruch which was swarmming with Japanese tourists. There was a very pretty rainbow on the lake. It started to become a rainstick. We found a deserted beach with really nice smoothed pebbles and little round red pebbles.
