Despite having a long day and late night the day before, we were all up fairly early. We had breakfast at the hotel, which was traditional buffet-style with cereal, yogurt and the sort. Erica really wanted to get a tattoo while we were in Iceland, which, would be really cool, so we set off that morning to go look for a tattoo place that might be able to take us. The places we found were all closed at that point, so we stopped in a couple shops just behind our hostel to look at things, but we didn't buy anything.
We walked over to the bus depot that was just a block over, and bought day passes for the public transport. We took the bus to a mall that one of the bus driver's had suggested to us. It was actually a decently large mall, so we wandered around there for a while looking at the different kinds of shops they had. Erica even had us take pictures together in a photo booth.
We found a free shuttle at the mall that took us to 'city centre', which is essentially just where all the tourist shops are. Erica really wanted to find a tattoo place, so we walked all the way back to our hostel, but none of the tattoo places had room for us on such short notice. It was too bad, because all four of us had decided we wanted Icelandic rune tattoos.
From there, we took a bus out to 'The Pearlan', which is a guest centre and restaurant up on a hill with a observation deck. The 360 observation deck had an amazing view of all of Reykjavik and from up there it was easy to see that it really was a small city. Unfortunately, because of the bus schedule we had to wait for a while to get back into town.
