This morning we work up at 6 am feeling very refreshed after a good nights sleep. The view of the sunrise from our room is spectacular. We could see cars buried by snow and all the snow-covered roof tops with the sun coming up over the river is quite a sight.

We headed out to make our way to the Amtrak station to get our tickets for tomorrow's train trip. It was absolutely freezing! The walk was only 5 blocks but by the time we got there we were numb from the cold and my asthma puffers had frozen up! After waiting in line for just over an hour at the Amtrak office for our tickets to be issued we headed off the explore a couple of the underground shopping centres. They all link to each other and some are 5 stories and all underground except for the top level! After shopping we headed back to our hotel. On our way back we had our first snowball fight. It was a bit of a slippery old walk back as some of the snow had melted leaving patches of ice. We both slipped a couple of times but never fell over.

When we went out again we spotted a guy who was getting around town using skis. Pretty good idea as you go so much faster than walking and less chance of slipping over. We spent the rest of the day exploring outside and taking pictures before heading off for something to eat. We ended up in a Japanese restaurant half a block from our hotel. Have to have another early night tonight as we need to be packed up and at the train station for our 9.30 train trip to Albany, NY.
