During our journey back to Puerto Natales we saw yet more Llamas close up! It was Sunday afternoon when we got back into town which meant a mad dash to buy dinner from the supermarket before it closed. Next it was crack on with the washing so it was dry before we checked out in the morning - even though doing your own laundry here is strictly forbidden! What a great dinner Donna prepared - a rack of ribs each (well I ate half of Donna's as well as my own). We are leaving here on a boat - not a cruise ship like our Cape Horn experience but a 3 day ferry essentially run for freight. We had the day to kill before boarding later in the evening but the Big Bang Hostel let us hang around there, use their wifi and their kitchen for lunch (and no wet washing to get us into trouble). We took a stroll around town and the traffic light jugglers were out in force. The weather deteriorated as the day went on, the roof of the hostel was making some worryingly loud creaking noises - those Patagonian winds again. At 6.30pm Donna received an email from the ferry company. Instead of boarding at 9pm to sail at 6am, we would now be boarding at 10.00am the next day. You could see the ferry from the seafront but the waves were way too big for it to berth and unload. We checked back into the hostel and Donna made yet another trip to the supermarket. We kept our fingers crossed that the ferry wouldn't be delayed any further. We woke to beautiful calm day, the ferry was moored and unloading. We boarded just after 10.00am but it wouldn't sail until 5.00pm. Happy Sailing!
