Nice walk through the national park and a boat ride around the split apple rock. Unfortunately our boat didn't take us around where the penguins were, like the other group. But the Rugby tackles from a crazy German on the beach was a good laugh :D We then drove onto Westport and stayed over night there. There was a big green opposite the hostel, so a few games of football, frisbee and random cartwheels, whilst the others went for a freezing cold surf lesson!!

Today I started the day with a Jet Boat ride at the Huka Falls. It was a quick thrill with the 360 degree spins and the stupid driver going to close to the trees and walls and quickly turning away :-S I think I was sat in the wrong seat, outside at the front!! We started the morning with a nice walk around the Redwood Forest in Taupo. These trees are huge, with their thick red straight trunks and no branches until the top, where the forest is covered by a canopy of all there leaves. We drive into Rotorua this morning, it stinks!! It smells like rotten eggs and stink bombs! Rotorua has lots of natural geysers, you can see them bubbling away and steaming as you drive past, the sulphur from these is what causes the bad smell... You get used to it after about 30mins .
