Rest Day / Reptile Park: Today we had another rest day in Alice, and dad had plans to go to the reptile park. When we arrived we found out the front of the reptile park had a ginormous statue. Day 16 Today Dad and I left our cabin early to go and pack up the camper. Dad was worried that when we got there it would be on fire. Luckily for us, everything was fine. I think because it was on a Mine road (the Mereenie Loop) there wasn’t much traffic on a Sunday night. We got out everything except for the tent poles, a gas bottle and a few mats. Day 15: Today we drove from the Uluru resort to Kings Canyon. We left at 8:40 in the morning, ( which is our new pack up record ). We drove on a sealed road from Ayers Rock. Once we got to Kings Canyon we had a lunch break and had some chicken sandwiches. Dad decided to do the 6 kilometre walk. Day 14: Today we got up at 5:45 in the morning to go see the sunrise at the Olgas. The Olgas are a strange rock formation, with the highest peak reaching 500m tall. The Olgas changed colour from black in the morning to a dark red colour and then finally when the sun came up it had a mix of purple and orange. After the sunrise we went on two walks. Day 13 drive to Uluru Today we were driving to Uluru. It is a 450 km drive from Alice Springs. Even though Uluru comes up before Alice Springs we had to skip it because of our back windscreen. Uluru is the worlds biggest single rock (monolith). With a highest peak of over 300 metres. That doesn’t seem very tall though but in fact only 1/3 of it is showing.
