Day 12: Today was another rest day in Alice we did a bit of our journals though. The good thing was we were allowed to go on the water slide! It was so much fun except it was freezing! I met a guy called Josh from Wollongong who was also on a trip around Australia.

Day 11: Today we left our roadhouse in Marla to go to Alice Springs. We left pretty early so that we could get to the campsite with lots of time to spare for a change. After we had finished setting up, the rest of the afternoon was pretty much spent on the jumping pillow which happened to be directly across from our campsite.

Day 10 Lake Eyre / Coober Pedy Today we drove 60km from William Creek to Lake Eyre. It’s an inland sea that fills up about every 10 years. The dry bottom is all salt, left over from the water. It’s really crunchy underneath your feet and it cracks easily. I took a piece of salt with me. After Lake Eyre we drove from William Creek 166km to Coober Pedy. Day 9 Drive on Oodnadatta Track Today we had a long driving day from Flinders Ranges to William Creek on a famous gravel road called the Oodnadatta Track. When we arrived at William Creek after a bumpy trip we stopped at a pub to have some dinner. I had chicken tenders and they tasted really good. After we left the pub we went out to the car to find our window had smashed into pieces and we had to go to Alice Springs to get it repaired.

Day 8: Today I woke up remembering it was Mother’s Day. Today for mum we gave her a present she loved. It was climbing up the second tallest peak in the Flinders called Mt Ohlssen Bagge 923m above sea level! There were vertical faces to climb, loose rocks everywhere on our 6km return trip.
