Didn't get home 'til some mental hour and woke up Chris so we could walk three kilometres to get some cash out! Was a hot and hanging walk where an ice-lolly salesman on his bicycle stopped for us to buy a couple of bargains.
Caught a couple of buses to leave the state of Goa and to enter Karnataka via the beautiful countryside on some terribly bumpy roads and a pain-in-the-proverbial bus conductor whistling all the time to signal to the driver to leave!
Our few hours travel cost under 1.50 pounds via Ankola and Chaudi. Met some more, pleasant and talkative locals who helped us out but I wasn't really in the mood most of the day. I literally slept with my head passed out on my bag on every journey. All play and no rest made me a dull boy....
At Gokarna, walked through the weird but wonderful heavily buddhist town and found a room at the Mahalaxmi. Experienced the local culture seeing them all going to and from the temples and all the decorations and clothing they were, very spiritual.
For tea some veggie meals and almond milkshakes were divine and cost pittence. Me being a pig I had another meal at our hostel on the rooftop.
