Well everybody, this is Hanoi! Its busy, its dirty, its crazy, its noisy, its beautiful and its cheap! Very cheap. My point...i had a three course meal with two pints of local beer last night for the grand total of.....3 pounds!!! Yes my friends, looks like i might have a bit more to spend in australia! I have been here two dyas, and seen lots of great touristy sites, but it is just walking round the streets that makes you feel a million miles away. The traffic is incomprehendible, and the lifestyle is just so different. They are poor in comparison to us, but most of the city is like that, so they all live like this! Nobody looks starving, but no one person is overweight. I got up this morning to see an incredible site. Hundreds of people, exercising in big or small groups doing tai chi, weights or badminton without a net around the big central lake. All while the sun came up over the buildings. The people are incredibly religious, but also very forthcoming! Pestering every second to buy something or jump on their motorbike taxi....which is an experince by the way. I am a million miles away, and it feels like it.....but its great. T x
