Toms Intrepid Travels
We arrived at the magnificent Angkor Wat, full of hope. Which was duly fulfilled. These temples are definately worth a visit a some point in your life! The highlights was definately watching the sun go down on one day, and being there about 12 hours later to watch it come up again! The colours the sky made with the temple in the foreground was just splendiferous!
A complete shock and unbelievable coincidence occurred aswell! Whilst watching the sunset from the highest point of the temples, i bumped into one of my A-level Englisg classmates, who i also went to Brazil with! What are the chances?! We had a little catch up, before going our separate ways again, but it was so surreal. What a small world.
These temples were also the filmset for the Tomb Raider films, and it was from one of the local orphanages that Angelina Jolie adopted her Cambodian child! We visited the local landmine museum also, where there are also a lot of children being kept who have lost limbs themselves or lost there parents to land mines. It was quite sad, but they are all so remarkably happy. They put spoilt western children to shame! We had a little game of footie with them, and course....whopped there arses! I'm still competitive! Lol.
