After leaving Zanzibar we had a night in Dar es salem before driving down to Lake Malawi
The lake is so huge must be as big as England. Camped for 2 nights in Chitimba beach before 3 nights at Kande beach. At the first place went for a 20km hike up the mountain to Livingstonia and back, passing some amazing waterfalls and generally having great views over lake malawi.
The second beach place was more of a piss up with a bit of relaxing thrown in. The first night it was a noirwegian grl called Annas birthday so got pissed for that and ended up sitting on the beach with some african dudes again until; early hours of the morning before returniong to sleep in a hammock which i have to admit was very comfortable!!
Then was back on the booze the next day as the truck tour had organised some games and drinking sessions so started about ten in the morning and my memory went about 8pm!! Tho i do remeber waking about 2am and relising the windows were open on our tent and it was raining but too lazy to get up and close them so woke up in a huge puddle!!
Next day feeling i had to do something productive a group of us canoed/swam to an island about 800m on lake malawi, but i was bit of a retard and couldn't really balance (light boats that kept taking on water, not anything to do with drink!) so concentrated all my energies on staying afloat while big Al rowed me to the island!
I am now in Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi before heading off to Zambia tomorrow
Hope England is treating you well and come on the Tractor boys tomorrow
