hi guys, tommi here. sorry for the lack of entries, its been pretty hectic since we arrived in sydney simply because there is so much going on with there being so many people back from home in sydney.

we arrived in sydney on 03/05, early in the morning and made our way to 'wake up' hostel, which all of us who stayed there would later agree that it was the best hostel we have stayed in so far.

everyone really enjoyed sydney, mainly due to the amount of people from back home who were there at the same time. including andy and myself, there were 16 people all from school in the same year group who are all good mates, as well as other people from guildford that we know and get on with. this meant that we never had a dull day or night when we went out, as there were so many of us to chill with and catch up on their trip.

while in sydney, we did the standard touristy things like checking out the harbour bridge, opera house and botanical gardens.

other than the cooler weather, one thing that was a shock when we arrived in sydney was the cost of everything. prices are practically the same as they are at home so we had to do some major budgeting: cooking all our meals for ourselves (no more eating out for every meal as we did in thailand) and lots of pre town drinking (so that we didnt spend too much money in the clubs).

overall, sydney was pretty hardcore. everynight invloved drinking and going out due to the size of the group, with one of the best nights being henriks birthday. his bday feel on the friday night and we all partied pretty hard (til about 4am in the morning), only to have to wake up at 6am to catch a bus to head up the coast to our next destination.

so, we left sydney on 10/05 and would recommend it to anyone. we really enjoyed going to bondi beach and we have picked up surfing well. andy and i both got caught in rip currents and although i managed to make a break pretty quickly, andy must have been in there for about 8 mins when he finally made his way out exhausted.
