Onto our final leg of our NZ travels and ending the journey with some awesome views leaving Mount Cook, went down to the lake side at Lake Pukaki to check the water out. It was so clear and surprisingly warm, unfortunately the local sand flies managed to feast on us so we are both now sporting a multitude of bites and they're so blimin itchy!

Came across another beautiful lake; Lake Tekapo and stopped off for coffee and a last long view of the stunning waters. Unfortunately we were running out of time for any more stops so had to motor on to Christchurch. We arrived just in time to return the hire car and carried on into Christchurch to revisit the restart centre and have a meal.

We had reached our last day in NZ and this time we travelled to the Southside of Christchurch and travelled by gondola to the summit of Mount Cavendish. However just as we were ascending the cloud was descending to blot out any possible view! Luckily we did get our view of the city and harbour during a couple of breaks in the cloud.

Finished off the day chilling by the hotel pool with a couple of drinks and realised that it was the first time that we had just sat and chilled! It was lovely.

Nice early start with a 4am wake up and 7.20 flight …… and so begins our Australian adventure!!
