After Ha Long Bay we got the bus back to Hanoi and then the over night train to Hue - no where near as nice a train as the Sapa one, but we met a really nice couple from New Zealand who we meet again later on in Hoian.
In Hue we hired the bike things where you sit on the front and the driver cycles you around. Was quite a good laugh and great that we didn't have to walk in the heat. We went round various sights including the Citadel and then to the Citadel within the Citadel where the emperor used to live with the forbidden purple city in the centre. Some of this place was bombed during the war and they've left it how it was, unlike some other places where they have rebuild it. Unfortunately we then got ripped off by the drivers who completely over charged us, but we just paid as they were causing such a scene!! Never mind, it was still only the equivalent of about 5 pounds each!
We then headed to the river to have a drink and Cath had the first injury of the trip when she stubbed her toe on a rock, lots of blood, but ok in the end!
