Arrived in Hanoi from Hong Kong mid morning and caught my transfer to the hostel. It is SO hot here its unbelievable...I've never experienced heat like it. The city is chaotic with thousands of motorbikes everywhere and what seems like thousands of people trying to sell you stuff and they just follow you harassing!
Meet some people from the hostel I was in on the first night and we all went to watch a water puppet show before we grabbed some food of the street market and headed to the pubs. Everything here closes at 11pm, but as long as you were already in a pub they just pulled the shutters down and carried on serving.
On Wednesday I went meet some of the people from the night before and we had a chilled out day wondering around the shops and cafe bars before going for dinner at Cha Ca La Vong. Here they gave each table a coal burner where you cooked your own fish and noodles etc which was fun.
Cath arrived on Thursday lunch time so we went out for a few beers and for dinner at Bar 69 before Cath gave in to jet lag.
Friday we went to the Temple of Literature and did some shopping before we boarded the night train heading for Sapa.
