Hey
Right...whats happened in the last 2 weeks.....my bad!
First of all, got to Koh Tao safe and sound on the ferry, got to our dive resort and found the cheap restaurant after about 5mins! Pranees is a godsend - less than a pound for a massive plate of pad thai (noodles) with chicken, been giving it beans with the chopsticks! Had the first fullmoon party which was quite an experience - UV paint and Sangsom Buckets (lots of local whiskey, coke, red bull and ice in a little bucket) Got the boat there by 7.30pm ate some food and started on it! Got picked up in the morning at 7am ish - good session completed - then a long sleep on xmas day finishing off with a chat to my family :)
Next thing on the agenda was diving! Completed our Padi Open Water before New Year's, being at the bottom of the sea with artificial air turns out to be quite a calming experience for me! Saw lots of nice fisheys and stuff, but mainly concentrating on buoyancy and being able to breathe properly!
New Year's Eve - fullmoon party 2. Learnt from last time and went for vodka redbull buckets instead as sangsom gets a bit horrible after a while! Met up with a couple of UK girls that we met in Krabi which was cool. Much better stamina this time and got to stay up for a bit longer to watch the sun rise - ahhhh! :) Another sleep marathon followed for New Year's day!
We decided to stay on in Koh Tao to do our Advanced Open Water, plus added another module in which you get qualified with breathing oxygen enriched air (30 - 40% per 100% - compared to the usual 21%, but i bet u knew that already :p) Got to see a lot more with a night dive, deep dive to 30m and fish ID. Got to lead a dive aswell with a borrowed dive computer, where me and Matt dominated! Saw a massive trigger fish which sneaked up on us (pretty much the most dangerous fish around Koh Tao - yes, more dangerous than sharks!) which was fun. So another couple of days diving seeing a lot more - so we were happy!
So we left Koh Tao on the 7th, followed by a 10.5hour journey to Bangkok combining boat and bus..in the end watched 4 films on the way, which made things a lot more bearable! We are staying just round the corner from Khoa San Road, near the land of erotic table tennis...if u dont wanna know - dont ask! :) Spent today taking a 8hour walk around Bangkok, seeing not even half! Looking forward for more exploring tomorrow!
So everything is cool, miss everyone back home
