Right...last blog was about Phuket time i think so i 'll start from there:
Well i think the biggest thing to happen to us in Phuket was the looking after we received, as a combination of Matt's parents and mine helping us financially and practically! So a massive thanks goes ouit to them first to enable us to have a lovely chilled out week, and a damn cheap week at that!!
Turns out the sight of 2 young males with shaved heads is quite a big thing for the ladyboys of Nai Yang beach...both Matt and I had our own admirer - we're still not sure if one was male or female and if the other was an ex-New Zealand winger by the name of Jonah Lomu! Either option was pretty scary! See pics for mine :)
One night they abducted us - fronting as "we'll give u a lift back to ur guest house" turned into a trip around the area, introducing us to some other ladyboys and to a supermarket where we got to weigh ourselves - they were very impressed! The look on Matt's face when they didnt stop at our place was priceless :D
Some other guests that arrived over the week were Matt's brother, Dave girlfriend (Lou) plus another couple (Tom and Jules) being friends of Dave..so it gave us the chance of having opponents for 2-on-2 football on the beach that was termed old vs. young (young one comfortably - even through blatant cheating and having an extra player for a portion of the game - though she wasnt very handy!!)
Then there was a little thing to mention - me finding out that Spurs beat Arsenal 5 -1 in the semi's of Carling Cup :D Which reminds me - Rich and Bass have gotten off lightly! You guys should count urselves lucky! A low point however was Matt managing to lose his bank card, but its not the end of the world and it just means we're working out of a joint account pretty much these days :)
After the week or so in Phuket, myself, dave, Matt, Lou, Tom and Jules went offt o Koh Phi-phi. Everyone apart from us ended up only being there for one night, as i think the girls didnt appreciate the hills (trekking) required from hostel to the centre and the state of the accommodation - so off to Ko Lanta it was for them (though we did get one nite out with Dave and Tom - which was an experience probably best not mentionned in detail on this blog! haha)
Accommodation for us was horrible, but a good price for Phi-phi. When the toilet smells worse after the flushing u know its not 5 star :) We thought it didnt really matter as we wouldnt be there long, but it turned out that after the before-mentioned night out - we pretty much stayed in all day sleeping! We both found it rather amusing that in the supposed most beautiful place on earth we spent a day in the most horrible room on the earth!!
Got to meet a couple of guys that we had met earlier in the trip namely Jess, Nikita and Janine - one New Yorker and two from England, all very different characters. Hope to see tehm all again sometime soon on our travels :) All good drinking partners thats for sure, and some useful at other pursuits...
Managed to get one day of snorkelling and boating in, awesome array of fish - and a moray eel that i had to get rather close to for a photo - i hope that one comes out! Stayed on the beach from The Beach, and finished off with a sunset before heading back for more buckets of alcohol and muay thai performance in a bar with its own ring! That night was a memorable one aswell, started with the funnist game of Yahtzee with 80% proof samsong and finished with me crawling in at 7.30am!!
So after the partying of Phi-phi, we had one days chilling out back at Phuket before our flight to Singapore. So thats where i am now, the airport is awesome - free internet, gym..could i ask for more!! In about 6 hours we're off to Sydney so by the time most of you read this i will be there - another day another country..hard life :)
Hope everyone in England is enjoying the blizzards, flooding or whatever horrible weather is passing through! But seriously everyone stay safe!
