Today started with a visit to the vege market in Kabale followed by a local supermarket so we could purchase food for our lunches over the next few days. We were pleased with our avocado & tomato purchases - however when we considered a watermelon we were quoted a price that made us laugh and say it would be cheaper in England.
The drive to Kisoro was through high hill passes with winding roads. It was fascinating as the style of clothing and farming gradually changed. Although people are generally friendly, there is more hostility and expectation of white people handing out money. We had a walk through Kisoro during the late afternoon as people were walking home from market day. A stop at the local post office garnered postcards and stamps and we rounded our stroll off with a drink at a bar where we could continue to interact with the locals. Tessa received a flying hug from a little boy. A wonderful end to the day.
