The early morning game drive saw another hyena and we got to see two lionesses sitting on top of a termite mound with their five cubs. Magic.

Lunch was leisurely held at the gate between the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongorongo Conservation Area. We climbed to the top of the kopje (distinctive rocky formations in the midst of the sea of grass). The view was endless.

During the afternoon we had a long drive across the endless sea of grass and onto the top of the rim of the Ngorongorongo Crater in time to take photos in the late afternoon sun. It is cold here, we are at more than 2000m altitude. The thermals are on!
