Last day has arrived! Why do fun things always go fast, it sucks!
We checked out around 10.30am and walked down the Ross to the White House, we seen it from the front this time, which is just as impressive as the other side! No Obama poking his head out though! There were tourists in there visiting, which sucked because we wanted to go in, when I checked online it is about a 9 month waiting list and you have to be an American citizen!
There were 'peaceful protestors' outside, some who had been there for 26 years! What a waste of a life, how do they wash? Yuk!
Ross voiced his opinion to me and some guy over heard and made a comment 'well that's America for you they can peacefully protest' hmm.. Yeah, Okay!
We couldn't get tickets to go up the monument, they were fully booked until 11th September which was typical, day after Ross leaves Washington!
Hasn't eaten again so walked over to Ross's hostel e was staying at tonight and found somewhere to eat there, went and had a crepe which was delicious, tuna and feta with salad and olive oil I had. A nose through the farmers market, the fresh food in the markets always looks so appealing! It's so colourful and there are masses of it all but it's always more expensive than crap unhealthy food.
To kill time we had a Starbucks and then went up and had a look at his hostel, it looks pretty decent and it's not in a quiet part of the city which is good. Walked back to the holiday in, tried to check in online again but no luck.
Back packs were on and our final walk till we depart each other at street K were I get the metro and he goes to his hostel. Hug and kiss on cheek goodbye. It was horrible, I had the biggest lump in my throat leaving him! I kept looking back to wave bye, we were both waving until we were out of site with people and cars in the way! I missed him already, what's gotten into me. Haha!
Dreaded trip on metro and bus back to the airport, the trip that took 2 hours Sunday the opposite way took me just over one hour today! What a difference a weekday makes!
Next, the dreaded trip over the Atlantic Ocean home for me! I hope I don't have turbulence, definitely going to knock back some travel tablets to knock me out asleep for the journey!
