Didn't wake up until 9am this morning so missed breakfast. We went out about 10 to a restaurant around the corner that lonely planet recommended. It was nice overlooking the street and the bible was not wrong as usual, the food was lovely and it was cheap which is a bonus!
We were finding jobs to do today because we didn't feel like venturing out far to explore Hanoi in the rain, so we booked a Halong bay tour for next week because the weather is going to be better then - so the weather forecast says! Although they're aren't usually that far off over here, it just seems to be Britain that they can't tell the weather forecast properly!
Then we walked around the lake, it was nice with lots of flower beds. There's a bridge going into a little island with a minature temple on it but we didn't want to pay £1 each to walk over a bridge so we took photos from the side haha!
There are lots of posh shops here, I'm still weary as to what's fake and real but we are in the capital and the Dior and Gucci shops look legit, along with Lacoste and MAC make up stores! I know, they do that stuff here too. Whaaaat?!
We went into a cute little coffee shop and had... Ironically a coffee ;) but couldn't resist a waffle with some chocolate sauce. It felt like Christmas though, the weather was damp and cold, it was dark and gloomy outside. They were playing love ballads that had backing music that sounded as though they were going to break out in a Cliff Richard or WHAM Christmas song, for one second I genuinely though Slade was on. I'm becoming delusional; Christmas in March! It all made me feel little homesick.
Scott thought he ordered a mocha so it would come out nice and big like my cappuccino; but much to his disappointment it came out in a baby chino cup and had about 3 mouthfuls in it. His face was an absolute picture! I couldn't help but burst out laughing at him, I was nearly crying I was laughing that hard! So he ordered another cappuccino!
It only cost £5 altogether, cheaper than costa and the coffee wasn't full of froth before you got to the tablespoon of coffee in the bottom!
Afterwards we had caffeine rush so walked for ages trying to find an Internet cafe that would allow us to print out of flight tickets to Thailand, after about an hour we managed it, then it was time to go back and watch films! I'm getting Scott into chick flicks, he liked bad teacher and was laughing a lot at the other woman with Cameron Diaz in, he nearly later all the way through the other woman until I think he realised that he was liking a chick flick to much and put his head phones in to watch the cricket. Manly. Haha!
Went out for food about 7.30, but by this time Scott was starving and miserable because his belly was empty so it ended up him marching around the old quarter looking at all the menus trying to find out what he fancied to eat! He still didn't know when we sat down an hour later at an Italian. I wasn't going to have a drink tonight, but he's drove me to drink! Men!
We played s*** face card game and now Scott is 28-8 winning, it's luck.
