Up early so we could get the tram down town to LEAV where get on the forest train up to Lillafured in the Bukk National Park. What a lovely day again! Bloody boiling! And a cracking little train ride up through the villages and into the mountains, which we weren’t prepared for without layers. Silly Billy’s! We walked around the little town went into the caves up there, the only thing was that the tour was in Hungarian so we were given an English information sheet with writing on it (to read in a dark cave, work that out).
Mum was freezing, went into a cafe and asked for white coffee only this means a cold coffee pretty much haha. So that didn’t help! Afterwards we went for a walk to the lake, it tried to rain a little but we still had a beer and mum a soup and latte to warm up. It was very picturesque and pleasant, great to see mountains greenery and clouds!
We were going on our little hike back down to Miskolc after this, but first pick n mix of sweeties! I had to take my teeth out again, these damn liners.
The hike was showing a good path on our google maps, a little precarious of it but it was all well signposted and lovely walks through the forests and down over into Miskolc, found lots of caterpillars which much had had death wishes sat eating and crawling on the path most of their friends squished! Stupid insects.
Started to get warmer as we got down lower. We were following the green path only for it to take a little further out of Miskolc so we had a longer walk (3km) into the town where we jumped on the tram, 3 minutes spare for the next one!
Nobody checking any tickets, we got it free with the pass anyways but still strange not to be checked.
After the walk we went back and got showered and straight back out because we would have all fallen asleep I think staying in any longer. A beer in the town and then there weren’t many places to sit and eat so ended back at Zips again for food. Lots of nachos. Dad had a HUGE dish and it had pork on it which really surprised me considering this was the first few dishes back at eating meat for FOUR years. The bet was up, finished!
