Really late getting up and about this morning, didn't help that the beds are really comfortable and the pillows are soft!
We went to the backpacker pad and discussed a trekking trip, we decided on the 2 day and 1 night trek in the jungle, where we try to find animals and get to do the Tarzan vine swings into waterfalls.
Hired bicycles again, they were $1 even more of an old banger than the last ones that we had.
We weren't doing a big bike ride today. We are going to Boeng Yeak Laom lake which is 700,000 years old and is a crater lake.
There were some big hills we were going up and down on the way there so coming back is going to be a nightmare up the hills! But thinking. About the calfs and quads!
We got there and had to pay $2 each to get in, there were a few shacks about with drinks and food, some were selling clothes. Chained the bikes up and walked down to the lake, it was huge! Near enough a perfect circle with a docks going out into the lake. We immediately got in, it was cold but not icy, it was refreshening and you felt clean when you got out.
We were jumping off the dock to get some good action shots with the go pro, mine are rubbish because there was a water droplet on the lense.
We chilled out there all afternoon, Cambodians taking photos of us so I pulled my scowl at a few which did scare one or two to be fair! Muhaha. We walked around the outside to another dock where there were just western people, so we got back in there. I didn't want to think what was in the lake, and kept bringing my feet out of the water haha! To be fair I thought I was quite brave!
Not until we were leaving did we see the partly hidden sign that said dress appropriately around the lake as it is sacred. Whoops!
Well at least we weren't the only ones in our swimming gear jumping in! And we do feel fresh and clean, we must have been blessed!
The ride back wasn't too bad, there weren't as many hills to go up as when we were on our way there, Scott's chain came off his bike so I stopped and fixed it with him, had to start at the bottom of the hill then so my run up was a waste of time. Haha!
A quick shower and out we went early because we were all starving and we had to have an early night because up early for the trek tomorrow!
We strolled into the market but it was still deserted compared to other cities we had been to and considering there were lots of shops open there weren't many people in them or driving around, it's a little strange!
