Woke up early again; 7am. I had to tip toe around Ross trying not to fall on him because he moved his mattress on the floor last night because he didn't want to have the bed creaking all night keeping him up!
I wrote my blogs whilst I waited for him to wake up; then we had showers and got our stuff together because it was time to check out of winsor hotel ready for LA. Check out was 11, we left around 10.30am, we were walking today instead of taking the easier route, by bicycle. We walked down mission street to grant street and market street so that Ross could take his cvs in to a few advertising agencies hoping for work experience next summer. It was warm and sunny today with a little breeze. the breeze got stronger as we walked down market street towards the pier, we made a diversion through jackson square to the piers. Ross wanted to go into another advertising agency. I just wait outside whilst he does this like a Lennon! :) we then went over to pier 39 and found more sea lions, turns out we weren't the young David Attenborough as the sea lions are endangered and are protected by law under San Francisco; haha there was loads of them! We walked over to pier 45 where we went into musee mecanique where they had all arcade games from the 1800s - early 1900s. They were only 25cent per
Game which wasn't bad at all, we had a go in an old photo booth which was so much fun! The first One was amateur though so we went and had another strip of photos done, they were so funny!! We then headed over to ghirardelli chocolate factory again and sat on the grass over looking the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz! There were people swimming in the water must have been freezing it is only 19 degrees today! Afterwards we trekked up the hills over to lambert street known as the windiest road in the world but personally I think not and the windiest in San Francisco! It was so pretty though, the flowers and houses around it were gorgeous and set the scene as an old fashion pretty and petite suburban area! The houses around here are absolutely gorgeous, so unreal how fab they are over looking Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the bay! I want a house here aswell! We walked over to mrs doubtfire's house, on the way we walked through what seemed to be a French quarter of San Francisco, it was so pretty and quiet, lots of French named shops which looked really expensive and the wine tasting shops and cafés. Even the men in the shops had bright coloured trousers on! Haha. It was really nice though, and different. We then walked far to mrs. Doubtfire house; it was so sad! There was chalk writing on the floor in loving memory of him. The blinds were pulled for respect but I'm not sure if anyone lived there? It was 5pm and time to walk back to union square, we had to kill time for another 5 hours before heading to the bus station for the night bus. We both couldn't walk anymore, we were exhausted, our feet felt as though they were going to fall off! So we caught the electric metro bus back, it runs on electric going through the wires hoisted in the air. It was such a nice ride back! We were both so tired! Went back to the hotel for a cheeky shower to freshen up, even though they had checked us out they allowed us which was nice of them! We then headed back out to the old fashion cable cars, we hung on the outside of then which was brill! Don't ask me how they reached the top of those enormous hills with all the people on, he was only using a big iron leaver back and forth for breaks aswell. That took us all the way down to fisherman's wharf. We got to pier 45 where there was loads going on, lots of sidewalk singers and music going on, one man playing his saxophone and those metal bongo drums which make you feel like your in Jamaica. We went for food in one of the seafood restaurants opposite it, really nice! We had a heater over us which helped a lot! As the wind is pretty nippy in the evenings! We had a big bread roll the middle cut out with crab soup in it. It was really nice; a lot of bread though so a blue moon beer to wash it down with was yummy! After food a stroll back to pier 39, we grabbed a coffee and walked back to the hotel, we walked through an Italian area of the city which was really lovely! Pretty little lights and restaurants there with Italian music playing in the back ground, another hidden area within the city!! We walked back down through the financial district to market street, grabbed some water In Walgreens for the bus; the check out man was named chan he took a fancy to Ross, he barely said hi to me but when Ross came to the check out he couldn't get enough. Haha! We then got back to the hotel just after 9, we sat in the corridor charging our phones to pass the time. Was a little awkward but hey ho! Asked them to ring us a cab at 10, was a little eager as we arrived at the bus station at 10.15pm haha. Better early then on time or late! A few girls got off a train and say next to us whilst we were playing eye spy! They joined in "S- stupid people getting on a 7 hour bus trip to LA"? Haha yes! At least we spotted someone, mind we got moved from where we were sitting because building workers wanted to tape it off to start construction there, little strange that they all work through the night here, not just little odd jobs but big machinery jobs, it's not as if it's boiling hot and invariable to work in the heat here at day! We walked down to the bus stop following the crowd and there was a huge queue for megabus! We got on though, double decker. Sat upstairs at the back, the air con was blasting so much it was freezing on there!! We tried getting shut eye after we moved it was great but got some, kept waking up absolutely freezing, shivering! Ross asked to turn it down and he said he didn't have the switches to control how powerful it came out of the blowers which sucked!! We kept clock watching to see how long left we had on the ice bus! When we stopped at about 3-4am I ran inside to a petrol garage store and got us two big cups of coffee to warm us up! It was boiling outside we must be getting south! I didn't want to get back on the bus :( the coffee warmed us a little but not for long! We learnt our lesson, we are getting a blanket for the next journeys!!
