Woke up around 7am, body clock hasn't adjusted yet! We were both awake at the same time, Ross was trying to not move because the top bunk was creeping and making a noise. He said he was trying to flip the duvet up with his foot instead of moving and then after that long process realised he was lying in bed with his cvs lol. But I didn't even hear him creeping in the middle of the night, ha.
We got dressed and headed out around 8.30am, went and got breakfast at lori's diner on Union square, I fancied an omelette, just an omelette! She asked me what toast I wanted.. I was a bit baffled and just said brown. Ross looked like a right bloody tourist we had about three different maps all surrounding him it was so funny! The diner was an old fashion USA diner, duke box machines and just old fashion (GREASE era) the omelette arrived HUGE with two pieces of toast and a massive hash brown! Could not eat it all, had the omelette and a little of the hash brown! Ross found a coupon for the diner we were in whilst he was looking through all the maps! Haha, love a coupon we do! we went up to union square to hire bicycles for the day. He set us up, but didn't offer us a helmet which we thought of after we left. We went to the advertising agency Ross wanted to put a cv into across the road and then back to the hotel because he forgot the selfie pole!! We cycled the bus routes, San Fran cater well for the cyclists they have their own lane and big signs all over the road to help you. We went down to fisherman's wharf and just strolled around on the bikes taking the sights in, pier 33 to look at alcatraz cruises. The tours were booked up until September 2nd to go into the building. We were a little unsure whether or not to do the cruise because of the price and wanting to just go in the building itself. Then over to pier 39 for a drink and looks round, it is a shopping and food mall but outside on a pier it's really quirky and different! We looked for wifi, so bubba gump it was, we sat next to the window look out on to Alcatraz and the pier where the yachts were kept. We spotted a sea lion playing in the waves! And then pelicans flying over us, Ross thought we were in Jurassic park! Haha. We had two pints of Alamo and a seafood sharer. Felt a little tipsy once we left. Drink driving on our bikes, whoopsy! We rode all the way around the bay, spotted Alcatraz! And then we recognised a bridge! It was the golden gate :) hehe!! First stop, ghirar Delhi chocolate factory. It was produced in the 1800s by an Indian man who wanted to come to America and make millions of dollars in construction but ended up making chocolate and then was a billionaire. The chocolate is gorgeous, but I think too much can get sickilly. We had to have the ice cream that was there! they were showing how they made it with the old machines. The ice cream was huge and yummy! Back on our bikes to the Golden Gate Bridge! Ross asked earlier this morning, are Chinese people unable to see as much as us? - just something to think about!
We had a few photo stops along the way. The water was so nice, turquoise! The bridge was incredible, it didn't feel as though we were actually there! We got up onto the bridge and finally found somewhere to buy water! We were parched! Rode across the bridge in the bike lane and pedestrian lane to the other side of the bridge (it is huge and magnificent) we rode up to vista point, which was another great view of San Francisco and the bridge! Back to san francisco side over the bridge, Ross has bed on collision with a Chinese lad.. Ross was proven right they must not be able to see as well as us! Ha. Nah he was fiddling on his phone really, idiot! At one point I thought I seen superman fly over but i was wrong :( it was a helicopter, what a view that must have been! We followed the bike trail to baker beach, that was a lovely beach, quiet with an incredible view!! The hills were killers! However next we were going down a road named el calamiri del mar, the houses were amazing!! Huge, gorgeous and filthy dirty rich people lived in them!! I've put a request in for a house there when Ross gets rich and he buys us all a house! :) massive steep hill that nearly killed me, asthma pump was needed!! At the top we got to the legion of honor, we only found the thinking man in there!! (From night at the museum) haha! How cool. Lovely ride down through a golfing range and through a quiet end of town, into the Golden Gate Bridge park. This was an incredible park! It was like another world inside a city, it didn't feel as though we were in a huge city, I still find it weird how there are main roads through their parks though. There were beautiful gardens and flowers and lakes everywhere! Out of the park we were going through another beautiful area of the city, a little more quiet than were we were staying and no big buildings! The buildings do make a different atmosphere and feel to the place. We rode all the way down market street, to our hotel. We parked the bikes up when and got showered and took the bicycles back. We were sensible tonight we brought jackets with us because we were frozen the first night! The wind is strong here because we are right on the sea. We went to Union square sat outside at a bar and had a pint of peroni! Then over to mason diner, we had another beer each, a Mexican beer! Very strong but decent :) pasta dish, we both had the same. Pasta in a wine sauce with olives mushrooms and sausage. Yummy!! Too tired to stay out from biking everywhere today so Walgreens for water and a packet of M&Ms and watched tv in hotel room, Ross moved his mattress off the top bunk on the floor because he had a rubbish night sleep night before because of the creaking! Haha.
