Friday 23 May
We have been in the UK for just over two weeks and have enjoyed getting around and catching up with family and friends. The first week was spent with Neil's parents and seeing their new home in Lebberston, a small village near Scarborough on the east coast of Yorkshire. Scarborough, and the east coast, was always a place we visited on day trips and long weekends when we lived in the UK, so it is great to be able to spend time there again and visit places that remind us of our childhood. We have also visited Whitby, where we of course had to have fish and chips for lunch, and Robin Hood's Bay and a lovely day out on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway taking a ride on a steam train from Pickering to Grosmont.
Our second week was spent in the very small village of Askwith near Otley where Neil's brother Stuart and his wife Louise live together with our gorgeous nieces Zoe and Sophie. This is where we picked up our second bike of the trip, our 13 year old Triumph Sprint, seen on the internet and bought by Stuart on our behalf we are very pleased with our transport for the next few months.
We are now with our old friends John, Alison and their children Jemma and Jonty for the Spring Bank Holiday, in the village of Monk Fryston. Just a week before Neil heads off to the Isle of Man for the TT which leaves me to catch up with family and old work mates.
