We have been under the weather a bit, so have been in Oaxaca for a week and not been
able to go very far!!! Bummer!!
This has been a great location. The store is three blocks away . Laundry is around the corner.
The bus stops are about 2 blocks away. Banks around a different corner. Everything you want is close.
We found out we could get Mexico internet for alot less than the states. So now I Have Internet!! Yippee
Finally, got to go to Centro today!! So great. We spent a lot of time walking around. The different Indian Tribes come here and set up their stalls. They sell pottery, shirts, dresses, wallets, purses,
There are museums here but we have not found them yet
The churches are something else to look at. They are sooo old. Huge stones, impressive carvings..
I looked in one church and it was very simple. But the stones that made these up were say about 2x2 on the ends and about 3 ft long. These were built so long ago, that nothing in the states come close.
We seen what looked like a covered market, so went in. That thing must have been four city blocks. All covered and just small paths between stalls or rooms , built like a maze!! We walked
in and got lost. Walked around that place for about an hour and I honestly don't think we even scratched the surface of looking at everything.
There were eating places, vegetable stands , liquor stores, clothing, leather. baskets,
purses , shoes. All that and more. We never even started seeing everything.
We spent a magical hour having lunch at a sidewalk cafe, listening to music, people and pigeon watching and just taking it all in.
The meal was so good. The breeze blowing gently. Oaxaca City is known world wide for their great food.
We plan to be here for awhile. What a magical place

KennH Looks like a great adventure! I would imagine those ancient churches are amazing. Are you planning to go to some of the ruins of the Mayan pyramids? Have fun and stay healthy and safe!
