After a sleep in and a near perfect guidance by Betty the GPS, we found ourselves at the front gate to Six Flags Magic Mountain about 20 minutes before opening.
Trapped inside the gates are dozens of rollercoasters determined to separate you from your corn dogs and funnel cake. Once in and started it became apparent that Danielle and I simply had three bag holders for the day. Sarah, Brooke and Yvonne joined me on a kiddie coaster, and Yvonne braved a major loop the loop beast, but otherwise it was the Grand Carousel (Merry Go Round) for them, with one interlude of bumper cars. Now we've been there, Magic Mountain is pretty much just roller coasters and junk food.
Being winter we were lucky. Only queued twice, but the skies were clear and just perfect for coasting. We did the Stand Up one, the horizontal one, the fast one, the old one, the scary one etc etc. We still left a few for next time, but were happy to have tried all the ones unlike what we've done before. It's a big park and they are BIG coasters.
The girls were patient with us, and just occasionally resorted to nibbles as a distraction. Theres a photo uploaded of brookes chips basket - where the supplied ketchup packets almost matched the number of chips! Crazy Americans....
At the end of the day we had a choice of culture(Getty Art Museum) or shopping.... you'd never guess which one.... Betty found us a shopping centre and the girls enjoyed buying clothes as usual, then off to Target to see what they had there. Lollies and junk food are amazingly cheap, so we've stocked up on those as diet supplements as we travel.
The ride home was fine - but as usual we were overwhelmed by the size and volume of everything. Streams of cars flying along and the widest road was 9 lanes just on our side! Betty's pretty on the ball, though.
We got back about 9:30, which has been our return time (or later) every night. The TV in our room is yet to be turned on, which is par for the course on a Pree trek.
Tomorrow we have.....More Rollercoasters...and more shopping (Factory Outlets)...then we relocate to the Queen Mary for a night in a Stateroom. It'll be a busy day, but should be a good one....again. We've done so much, and seen so much (Even on our journey home....We stumbled into the seedy end of Hollywood Boulevard with some rather eye opening shopfronts! It was a worry when the girls started seeing 'Nice' outfits in the windows!)
Oh, and I think we could have done another week here without hesitation... But there's still so much more to see!

Joe Michael Did you do the high one, the wooden one, the backwards one, the twirly one, or the rattly one?? You're making us envious already, even though we were there 2 months ago!! Enjoy the Queen - she's lovely.
