The PinEle Adventure
Sunny saturday in Dubrovnik and visit from the vide president of America gave perfect opportunity for daytrip to the island of Korcula (birthplace of Marco Polo).
Enroute we visited the best seafood restaurant in Europe where we tried oysters, caviar, cuttlefish, octupus and a local speciality sweet which we have named the macaroni cake due to it including pasta as one of its main ingredients. sounds strange but yum yum!!
Peaceful picturesque river side 'juice bar' visited where Lynne got bitten by a resident donkey. Don't worry she's ok but the poor donkey got a fright when she bit it back hehee.
local 'famous' popstar had everyone singing along while he strummed the guitar. Cd available on request - believe us you'll all be wanting a copy. you might see him on croatian idol next year ;)
Sing song continued whilst absorbing the croatian countryside and listening to the popstars croatian version of 80's english tunes. Fabulous. Hilarious bellyache experience. Will never be able to listen to an 80's song in the same way again.
Finest local ' tochno vino' went down a treat whilst lapping up the rays at the marina.
Vineyards visited on way home as vino supplies were running low!!
Mama of our family hostel fed us with goulash on our return. More mussels, oysters and more vino were enjoyed and a fun night in was had by all.
We and our first fellow backpacking chum (James from Oxford) were entertained by 'Staple' actor/vocalist and members of the Petrovic family.
They don't do curry sauce!
Love The PinEles xxxx
